Eyes of the Broken

EYES OF THE BROKEN is a Movement, Clothing Line, and Safe Haven founded to provide minorities impacted by Incarceration, Unemployment, Homelessness, and Broken Homes with opportunities that have been taken away from them. That includes the opportunity to be free, whether it’s Spiritual, Mental, Financial, or Physical Freedom—Eyes of the Broken provides a pathway that helps individuals journey towards it.

OUR MISSION heal communities worldwide by using a portion of our proceeds to bring awareness to the economic injustices minorities face, promote social change, and help people incarcerated Spiritually, Mentally, Financially, and Physically break free from the broken systems in society by equipping them with the spiritual and physical tools necessary to become the solution to their own problems.

OUR VISION create a world where everyone can experience abundance and be free—a society where mass incarceration, unemployment, homelessness, and broken homes are no longer a persistent problem.

THE PROBLEM

Brokenness within families and communities which has been created by the broken systems (Government, Banking, Healthcare, Educational, etc.) in society. This includes:

MASS INCARCERATION:

2.3 MILLION “The American criminal justice system holds almost 2.3 million people in 1,833 state prisons, 110 federal prisons, 1,772 juvenile correctional facilities, 3,134 local jails, 218 immigration detention facilities, and 80 Indian Country jails as well as in military prisons, civil commitment centers, state psychiatric hospitals, and prisons in the U.S. territories.” Report by Prison Policy Initiative (PPI)

HOMELESSNESS:

580,466K “In January 2020, there were 580,466 people experiencing homelessness in America. Most were individuals (70 percent), and the rest were people living in families with children. THE FOUNDER

ABOUT JOHNESHA ROBINSON —

A SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR AND AUTHOR WHO IS REDEFINING WHAT IT MEANS TO BE FREE

Johnesha was born and raised in Oakland, California. Her childhood dream was to become a lawyer. But when a loved one’s incarceration opened her eyes to a broken system designed to keep people stuck, Johnesha instead began on a personal journey to help individuals worldwide break free from the broken systems in society.

“I started this journey and founded Eyes of the Broken in 2018 out of pain after a loved one’s incarceration. While seeing the pain my loved one experienced while incarcerated, I also got to see for myself how the system utilized said pain and problems that come about from these situations to keep people bound and stuck in poverty.

It was at that moment when my back was pushed up against a wall that I had to decide—either become a victim of the broken systems in society or fight. My conclusion: I had to fight. So, I started writing, and through weekly newsletters that included Bible Scriptures and prayers, I provided my loved one with hope, peace, and love. The newsletters later developed into a concept for Emancipation Freedom for the Incarcerated Soul – a BOOK, and Eyes of the Broken – a MOVEMENT, CLOTHING LINE, and SAFE HAVEN.”

Johnesha is the perfect example of what it means to be resilient. She aspires to help everyone redefine their sense of freedom, break away from what society expects of them, and chase after their dreams. Her story is a constant reminder that you have the power to be the change you desire to see in this world.
